The children had lots of questions such as asking if the Snow Queens face was always blue and why we were in costumes. I feel that this was our strongest performance yet and we really enjoyed the atmosphere we were working in. Throuought the piece chidren were talking and shouting and laughing, which only made us work much harder to keep their attention and try to speak over them. The children came in in dribs and drabs, voicing their opinions on the set and what was happening. This was quite daunting but we were all very excited to get going. After setting up a teacher came over and told us that due to the nature of the children it is unlikely that they would sit stil and quietly, but to just work over the top of them. This is a special needs academy and we were all looking forward to see how the chidren would react to our piece. In the afternoon we went to Woolgrove school in Letchworth. There was one comment though from a little boy on the far right saying that he could not see what had happened at the begining on the left hand side of the stage, we took this in and on the bus home figured out a way of making sure that everyone could see everything going on at stage. The performance went extremely well, we recieved a ot of laughs from the children, and the comments made at the end all told us how muc hthe yenjoed the piece and that they found it very funny. Once we had heard this we were al very excited as we knew our piece was aimed at a younger audience. We were given a much younger audience to perform to, made up of nursery, reception year one and two. In the morning we went to Kimpton primary school, due to a confusion with times we had turned up rather late and therefor the year groups we had supposed to be performing to were unable to attend. Today Jess was able to return to the course, and therefor play her original role of Fast again but allowing Mel to keep her role of Mumma Oldie and Stephen still standing in for Candice who unfortunately did not return. It has been a wonderful and eye opening experience that I have very much enjoyed and learnt a lot from about childrens theatre but also about myself as an actor, and how I cope with different situations and in different circumstances I would also like to try interacting with the children to see how they would react and also how I as an actor would react and go about doing so. I would also make sure that the set is robust, small and effect to mak etouring with it a lot easier. If i were to do Childrens Theatre againg I think I would like to try writing and creating a story of my own from begining to end, instead of reworking a story that already exists. I am very appreciative of those who steppend in for other members of the cast that were unable to go on tour, and feel that even with the new cast members the group stuck together and worked through the difficukties to come out on top. Throughout everything, I feel very proud of the Imagination makers, I think from begining to end we worked very well together, there were no aruments or bickering and we all put in 100% of our efforts writing the script, making the set and simply putting together what i feel was a success of a show.
